We
would like to give you an experience that you will remember for
a lifetime. We'll take you diving among manta rays, sharks, and
spectacular coral. We'd love for you to learn about Yap's rich
culture. In Wacholab villge, you can live with the people and experience
a culture that has hardly been touched by outside influence. Here
you can connect with your spouse, family or friends in a land that
hasn't forgotten
the hectic pace of your world...it has never experienced it. The
people of Yap live simply. At Village View Resort and RiZE Diving
Center you can commune with nature, scuba dive, experience relaxed
and peaceful living, explore land and culture, and unwind in your
beachfront resort room.

Village View Resort is in the middle of a Yapese village, leaving you the perfect opportunity to get to know the locals, if you choose to venture out of your quiet solitude. The village is a thirty-minute drive from Colonia, the main town. The resort and dive shop are both nestled on the beautiful and private Sunrise Beach. You can wake up each morning while watching the sunrise right from your deck, or from the boat if you are leaving for an early morning dive. The scenery is breathtaking and the diving is amazing. The village offers friendly faces, peaceful solitude, and many unique experiences and adventures. Each room has two single or one queen sized bed, air conditioner, fan, full bathroom, sitting area, and large water front deck. The informal restaurant offers a friendly and personal atmosphere. Guests can feel free to relax there anytime as it provides a comfortable area for socializing or a nice place to sit and let the sea breeze cool your skin. **Village View Resort sustained interior damage from typhoon Sudal and is currently being completely renovated. For the interior, the owner is personally milling and using Yap's local mahogany and other fine wood, from trees that fell during the storm. In the meantime, please click below to view some of Yap's hotels and price lists. |
RiZE Diving
Center offers a personalized dive experience. The highly trained
staff is passionate about sharing the beauty of Yap's waters
with people. Staff members are willing to schedule what you want
to make your experience most memorable. Daisuke Jomi "Jo", RiZE's owner, ran a dive shop in this village for 3 years from 2000-2003. After leaving for 2 years and working in Japan, Thailand and Maldives he came back to Yap to open his own dive business. Jo has over 13 years of experience in professional diving, most recently working with Werner Lau in Maldive's Medufushi Island, and has over 5,000 dives. |

On
April 25, 2005 Moon RiZE Café opened. It got it’s name
because the full moon rises from the ocean horizon right in front of
the restaurant. Yoshi has years of experience cooking
in Japan and has worked with many different cooking styles. Before
Yap he worked at a Macrobiotic/vegetarian restaurant where, as a
meat-eater,
he was surprised to learn that veggie food can be very interesting.
He has created a menu of Asian and western style foods and 80% of
his affordable menu uses fresh ingredients from our many gardens.
He also buys fresh produce from the
students at the elementary school up the road. We have a pig (Mayu,
which means delicious in Japanese slang:( and he is always thinking
of how to use local ingredients. Our restaurant brings out the tastes and
local flavor of Yap. Guests who come to our restaurant know
that they can relax for hours and hang out for the entire day, if
they like. |
